There has been some doubt over the pitch at the Stadium of Light due to torrential conditions across the north east but the match is set to go ahead as it stands.

Here’s the best of the social media reaction to team news:

@RCawley01 tweeted: “Solid line up but I would have rather dropped Scowen and kept Leadbitter in the side.”

@hulkcass10: “Hopefully get balls in the box from corners with Leadbitter out.”

@stubailey73: “Liking this team, more pace about it, hope it goes ahead.”

@jimmmyreay: “Strong side and pleased changes been made for freshness’ sake more than anything. The 5 sub rule gives us chance to make further changes if needed. Negative effects of relying on same XI Sat/Tues very evident under Parky.”

@_JordanSimpson: “Crackin' lineup actually, shame we might not see them play tonight!”

@CHorner_: “I like the starting lineup. Excited to see how Winchester gets on after his impressive cameo on Saturday. Also pleased to see Diamond back in the eleven; think he's one of our more dangerous players nowadays. Fingers crossed the pitch holds up though, it looks in a bad way.”
