Durham Alliance Combination League: Pearce, Mhlanga seal impressive Hall Farm success

Farm, who have enjoyed a tremendous first season in the new league and still have an outside chance of the title, just had the edge in a thrilling cup tie.

Lee Pearce and sub Mark Mhlanga came up trumps with the vital goals for Farm, with Chris Bewick man of the match. Ben Sandie notched for Redcar.

Oddies progressed well, too, securing an impressive 3-0 success away to Wheatley Hill WMC.

Michael Bulmer kept up his prolific campaign with a well-taken hat-trick to cap a good all-round team performance, in which Luke Taylor was man of the match.

Craig Robson’s hat-trick led the way as Coundon & Leeholme cruised to a 6-0 victory at Killingworth YPC.

Michael Gibson, Morghan Claydon and Ben Collinson also netted.

Washington AFC endured a 14-2 drubbing at ruthless Bishop Auckland Reserves in the Clem Smith Bowl.

Liam Bain and star man Thomas Fisk both plundered hat-tricks, with sub Chris Quinn coming off the bench to hit a four-goal salvo.

Connor Bain, Liam Woodfine (2) and sub Danny Wales added to Washington’s misery.

Hartlepool Reserves also progressed, edging home 6-4 against Wallsend Town.

There were only two league games played.

Sherburn Village WMC maintained their fine form with a 5-0 defeat of visitors Guide Post.

Michael Nichols was star man as Sherburn shared the goals around against their Sunderland visitors, with Glenn Hendrix, Alex Hird, Jamie Taylor, Steven Turnbull and sub Dan Johnson all on the scoresheet.

Durham City Reserves romped to a 6-0 home success against Brandon United Development, inspired by a clinical Kyle Patton hat-trick.

Jeremy Allen, Steven Malloy and Michael Webster also got in on the act, with Andrew Brown man of the match.
