The winless visitors revelled in a hat-trick from Dylan Kelly, but were pipped 4-3 as the Farra lads made it two wins on the trot.

Doubles from Liam Laidler and Aaron Clasper gave Farringdon the edge, with Lewis Dodd man of the match. Colin Watson starred for New Westlea.

Hall Farm showed their strength in a 5-0 demolition of lowly Sunderland University.

Mark Mhlanga and sub Martin Hope both grabbed doubles for the hosts, backed by a strike from sub Chris Bewick, with Josh Tuckwell named man of the match. Ryan Kennedy starred for University.

Sherburn Village WMC had no mercy as they outgunned visitors Guide Post 13-1.

Prolific marksman Glenn Hendrix led the way against the Sunderland side, hitting four goals, while sub Charlie Armstrong weighed in with a hat-trick.

Bishop Auckland Reserves, meanwhile, exited in the preliminary round, going down 3-2 at Killingworth YPC. Connor McEvoy and Thomas Fisk grabbed their consolations.

In the only league game, Wallsend Town maintained their recent improvement with a 3-2 victory at Blackhill & Ebchester.

Star man Stephen Agnew bagged both goals for the home side. Stewart English, Connor Brown and Alan Errington gave Town the edge, despite Derek Graham’s dismissal.
