Durham Alliance Combination League: Coundon strength too much for Hall Farm's battlers

Sunderland University were no match for hosts Bishop Auckland Reserves, who eased to an 8-2 win thanks largely to hat-tricks from Liam Gill and star man Danny Wales.

Leaders Durham City Reserves fought hard to secure a 1-0 home victory over Killingworth YPC at Durham Racecourse, Kyle Patton bagging the only goal.

Andrew Brown stood out for City.

Glenn Hendrix netted the consolation goal for Sherburn Village WMC, who had Chris Brown sent off in a 3-1 defeat at Hartlepool Reserves.

Two-goal Carl O’Sullivan and Matthew Newbury notched for Pool. Jamie Taylor was Sherburn’s stand-out performer.

Washington AFC remain without a point following an 11-0 drubbing at third-placed Redcar Town.

Wheatley Hill WMC turned on the style to hand out a 10-2 beating to visitors Wallsend Town.
