The Northern League Second Division Colliers were rampant and hurried into a two-goal lead with strikes from Jack Devlin and Shaun Smith.

A defensive blunder enabled Joe Kerridge to make it three and the home side then went four up before the interval as Devlin again struck.

Spennymoor had the chance to reduce the deficit on 84 minutes, but Easington goalkeeper Kyle Donaldson first saved Ross Morrow’s penalty and then the same player’s follow-up shot.

With a minute remaining, the Colliers cemented a 5-0 win as man-of-the-match Devlin completed his hat-trick.

Easington will entertain West Auckland in the quarter-finals.
