'A big boost' - Sunderland supporters delighted with double announcement
The wheels are starting to turn at Sunderland Ladies.
The Lady Black Cats have been handed a major boost with captain Keira Ramshaw agreeing a new contract at the club.
A new deal at Sunderland will see Wearside-born Ramshaw enter into her 12th senior season with the club she supported growing up.
And manager Mel Reay has welcomed former defender Charlotte Potts back to the club as she looks to step up her preparations for the new season.
Potts, 26, had enjoyed an on-off 10-year association with the Lady Cats before she sealed a move to Scottish side Hibernian in July 2020.
Sunderland Ladies will compete in the Championship next campaign and shared updates regarding Potts and Ramshaw on Monday and Tuesday respectively.
And Sunderland supporters were quick to react to the double announcement on social media with many fans excited.
