When Southwick in Sunderland celebrated its 900th birthday

They were having a celebration in Southwick and it wasn’t just any old celebration.Back in 1983, Southwick was 900 years old and there were festivities galore to mark the occasion.One of them was the Southwick 900 Carnival Parade but there were dozens of other events as well.There was a pipe band, vintage buses, floats and an old-fashioned fire engine.
