Fire up the barbie as we tuck in to a whole gallery of Sunderland outdoor recollections.
National Barbecue Week is under way and we are celebrating with a look back at a 9-course menu of Sunderland Echo photo memories.
They stretch from 1992 in Horatio Street to 2014 at St Peter’s Church in Monkwearmouth.
National BBQ Week in the UK first began in 1997 and it’s the perfect weather to enjoy it in 2026.
Met Office experts predict that the Sunderland weather will stay warm throughout the week even though the blazing sunshine may hide behind some cloud cover at times, before the temperatures climb once more as next weekend approaches.
