We are flying high with memories of the Usworth Air Day which brought the crowds to Sunderland.
Thousands of people would turn up to watch displays each June such as these ones which were photographed by the Sunderland Echo team.
We have views from 1967 and 1969 and they show display teams as well as people enjoying the summer sunshine with a family picnic.
The event has a rich history that dates back to the Royal Air Force's "Empire Air Days" in the 1930s.
Over the decades, it evolved into a beloved regional spectacle featuring aircraft displays, parachutists, and helicopters before being discontinued.
