So much history has been created at the Roker Hotel and there is more on the way.
The seafront venue, is a step closer to opening a new function suite and conference centre, as reported in this Sunderland Echo story this month.
And that gives us a chance to jump back in time to enjoy memories from the hotel spanning from 1965 to 2015.
They include a famous footballer arriving at the hotel, an army regiment on parade, and the Castle View Enterprise Academy prom 11 years ago.
Ballroom dancing, a royal visit and a civic ball are also included in these photo memories.
But we want yours as well. Tell us if you have enjoyed a momentous occasion in your life at the hotel, or perhaps worked there in the past - or even met a celebrity while paying a visit.
