Invitations to the nuptials on Saturday (19 May) were issued to around 600 guests, who will attend the ceremony at St George's Chapel and afternoon reception given by the Queen.

A further 200 close friends have been invited to the after-party at Frogmore House, hosted by Prince Charles.

Who will be attending?

Charity workers, veterans and community heroes who spend their time helping others have been favoured on the guest list instead of the usual roll call of political leaders, and some members of the public have been invited to the castle grounds to enjoy the festivities.

Royal sources have said the guestlist will be restricted to those who have a direct relationship with the couple, with the reason being the relatively small size of St George's Chapel (which holds 800 people) and because Prince Harry is not in the direct line of succession.

The Royal Family

It almost goes without saying, but the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William, who has been confirmed as the groom's best man, will both be in attendance, along with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who is expected to be a part of the bridal party.

However, those hoping to catch a glimpse of Prince Louis will be left disappointed as the newborn will be kept away from the public eye.

The Queen, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall are all due to attend, while Lady Jane Fellowes, the sister of the late Princess Diana, will deliver the reading.

She will be joined by her siblings Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer.

Other royalties include The Duchess and Duke of York, along with daughters Princess Beatrice and Eugenie of York, as well as The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Kent, The Princess Royal, and the Queen's granddaughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike.
