The queen of strange and sultry pop music, Lana Del Rey, has been forced to cancel her upcoming tour due to illness.

Following on from the successes of 2019, the performer had planned to hit a string of arenas across Europe in the early months of 2020.

Here’s everything you need to know about the cancelled tour and what to do if you had tickets.

Which shows have been cancelled?

Lana Del Rey was set to begin on a huge tour of the UK and Europe, starting in Amsterdam on Friday 21 February 2020.

Over the following two weeks, the singer would have then made stops at many major venues across the continent.

The tour was in support of her critically-acclaimed 2019 album, Norman F*cking Rockwell, which just recently picked up the Best Album award at the 2020 NME Awards. The album was nominated for two Grammy awards and voted best of the year by music critics.

Unfortunately, the tour has now been scrapped.

The full list of cancelled shows is as follows:

Friday 21 February – Amsterdam, Ziggo Dome

Sunday 23 February – Paris, Accor Hotels Arena

    Tuesday 25 February – London, The O2

Wednesday 26 February – Manchester, Manchester Arena

Friday 28 February – Glasgow, SSE Hydro

Saturday 29 February – Resorts World Arena

    Monday 2 March – Berlin, Mercedes-Benz Arena

Tuesday 3 March – Cologne, Lanxess Arena

At the moment, Lana Del Rey is still expected to appear at a series of high-profile festivals later in the year, including Glastonbury and Coachella.

Why has the tour been cancelled?

The shows have all been cancelled due to sudden illness, which has made it impossible for Del Rey to perform.

The singer released a statement explaining the sudden cancellation:

“Sorry to let everyone down so last minute but this illness has taken me by surprise and have totally lost my singing voice.

“Dr has advised 4 weeks off for the moment. I hate to let everyone down but I need to get well. Love Lana”

    Will the shows be rescheduled?

No information has been released yet as to whether the UK and European shows will be rescheduled for a future date.

At the moment, ticket holders have been advised to contact the company their tickets were purchased from to arrange a refund.

If new dates aren’t found for the cancelled shows, UK fans will have the chance to catch Lana Del Rey at this year’s Glastonbury festival, which will run from Wednesday 24 until Sunday 28 June 2020.

This will be the first time she has appeared at the major UK festival since 2014. She will headline the 2020 edition, along with Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney.

For those who are happy to travel a little further, Del Rey does also have a few other European shows currently scheduled as well:

Friday 5 June – Barcelona, Primavera Sound Festival

Sunday 7 June – Paris, We Love Green Festival

Tuesday 9 June – Verona, Arena Di Verona

Friday 12 June – Nos Primavera Sound Porto, Porto
