According to The Sun, the royal couple signed a deal with the streaming service earlier in September to produce a collection of programming including documentaries, films and children’s programmes. It is now being claimed that the pair will feature in their own show.

‘Tasteful’

A source told The Sun that the series will be tasteful, and that the couple want to give people a glimpse into their lives.

If you’re hoping for a Keeping up with the Kardashians style programme then you might be left disappointed. The filming will take place over three months and it is not yet known whether the cameras will be allowed into Harry and Meghan’s £11.5 million home in Montecito.

The source said, “Much of the docuseries will be about their philanthropy rather than what they get up to behind closed doors.

“But it will still be a fascinating insight and Meghan hopes viewers will get to see the real her.”

£112 million Netflix deal

Speaking to The Metro, a Netflix spokesperson said, “The couple already has several projects in development, including an innovative nature docu-series and an animated series that celebrates inspiring women but we are not disclosing any of the programming slate at this time.”

The royal couple secured a £112 million deal with Netflix in early September.

They addressed the deal saying, “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”

Netflix boss Reed Hastings revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “shopped themselves” around the major production companies before selecting Netflix. Hastings believes the content produced by the couple will be the “most viewed” on the streaming platform in 2021. Netflix currently has 193 million subscribers.
