Letter of the week: Move Sunderland Eye Infirmary to Vaux site

Sunderland city council's development company is actively seeking private and public interest for its two building concept  for the Vaux site.
Sunderland Eye Infirmary has occupied its current site in Queen Alexandra Road since 1940. The site was never going to be singularly driven by private enterprise, demonstrated by 20 years of no takers.

The first rule of major regeneration has always been attract a key public building to anchor development.

Sunderland has few winners.
