The 13-year-old will take on reigning champion Norman Burton of Trumpington ABC (Cambridge) in the 34kg class A schoolboy championships in Grantham.

Although small in stature, Sunderland ABC’s McLeod more than makes up for it with his ability and skills.

In the semi-finals last weekend, McLeod saw off Billy Hughes of Laisterdyke ABC (Bradford).

Wallace started cautiously in the opening round but quickly got to work behind a strong jab.

In the second, he started to pepper his opponent at will, sending him rocking around the ring.

In the final round, Wallace stepped it up even further, hitting his opponent with combinations from all angles to win a well-deserved points decision.

The youngster will be backed by some great support on Saturday, with a group from the club making the trip to cheer him on.
