Words can be meaningless
One thing that annoys me immensely takes place when I have to attend a funeral.
When the cortege is leaving the church all you can hear are those meaningless words: “If there is anything I can do, just let us know.”
What a lot of hot air.
If you really needed anything, do you really think you would get it? I doubt it.
People have very short memories.
