Woman helped to safety by emergency teams after coastal call out

South Shields Volunteer Life Brigade (SSVLB) and Sunderland Coastguard Rescue Team were called to help Northumbria Police following an alert last night, Monday, March 1.
The North East Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team also attended the incident.

Hide AdA Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At about 8.15pm yesterday we received a report of concern for the welfare of a female in the Marsden Grotto area of South Shields.
“Officers attended and the woman was brought to safety.”
The rescue teams were drafted in to help officers just after 10.10pm, with the incident coming to a close a short time later.
A spokesperson for SSVLB added: “The team were tasked with our colleagues from Sunderland CRT to assist police with an incident in the Marsden area.
"After a short time the incident was resolved successfully.
