Witness appeal after jewellery stolen from Wearside home

Police are appealing for witnesses after jewellery was stolen from a house in Sunderland.

The burglary took place at an address on Atkinson Road on Monday, January 11, between 10.30am and 12pm.

Among the items stolen were a gold band with a gold elephant charm attached to the ring and a gold diamond cluster ring with five small diamonds.

A silver bangle with a patter engraved on the band was also taken, as well as a gold wedding band and a gold ring with a black onyx stone.

Officers are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the street at the time of the burglary or has information about similar items of jewellery being sold second hand, including jewellery shops, to come forward.
