Will you take a leap of faith for battling Bradley Lowery?

Staff at the Oaklands pub, in Peterlee, are holding a bunjee jump event tomorrow and have issued a last-minute appeal for members of the public to come along and join them in jumping off a 200ft crane to raise money for a good cause.

The event will take place in the pub car park in Durham Way, Peterlee from noon and anyone is welcome to come along and take part for a fee of £60.

Additional funds raised through sponsorship will all go towards Bradley Lowery’s cause and a collection bucket will be there on the day.

Manager Fiona Tench, 34, from Whickham Street, in Roker, and bar manager Aimee Maund, 21, from Tunstall Terrace, Sunderland, came up with the daring fundraising idea.

Fiona said: “Anyone is welcome to come along and take part, they just need to turn up at noon with their £60 and take part.

“We have the crane for four hours but need to have at least 45 people taking part.

“We hope to raise £1,000.”

The five-year-old from Blackhall was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2013, undergoing gruelling chemotherapy and numerous operations.

The initial treatment proved to be a success and the brave youngster was declared to be in remission in 2015.

Sadly, the cancer has returned and Bradley’s family are now trying to fund potentially life-saving treatment in the USA.
