South Bents Townswomen’s Guild is hosting the Sunderland Federation coffee morning in St Mary’s Church hall, Bridge Street, at 10am. Next Wednesday, April 13, Sunderland Federation AGM will be held in Grindon Community Association at 2pm. There will be no evening meeting.

Today and tomorrow there are Easter holiday Get Crafty sessions for children, some in the open air, from 11am to 4pm. On Thursday from 9.30am to 11am and on Sunday from 11.30am to 1.30pm, join a Souter ranger for a Seashore Safari among the rock pools. There is no need to book, just meet in the Foghorn Field, but be dressed appropriately for the weather, especially with sensible footwear as the rocks can be very slippery. The cost is £1 per person with nets and buckets provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. The safari is suitable for all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult and dogs on leads are welcome. Whitburn Parish Church is hosting an art exhibition by Jarrow Art Group on Saturday from 10am to 2pm and Sunday from 11am to 2pm. Paintings will be on sale at reasonable prices, with a contribution going towards church funds.
