Like our Sunderland AFC Facebook page here:Robbie Stockdale and Billy McKinlay will take charge of Sunderland for the trip to Middlesbrough on Sunday lunchtime following the departure of Grayson.

Stockdale has been at the club since 2012 and has worked under a number of first team managers. McKinlay, former assistant to David Moyes at Real Sociedad, has had stints in charge of Watford and Norweigan side Stabaek.

Moyes brought him to Wearside last year in a scouting capacity, but an illness to Grayson's assistant Glynn Snodin saw him temporarily promoted to the first team coaching set-up.

The Black Cats are likely to make a permanent appointment during the international break, with Milwall the next visitors to the Stadium of Light on November 18th.

A club statement said a further announcement regarding the manager’s position will be made in due course.
