Washington-based Seta, which offers apprenticeships, traineeships and commercial courses, has been accredited under the Certification Scheme for Welding Inspection Personnel (CSWIP).

It means individuals and employers can use Seta for initial assessment and instruction through to examination and certification – all under one roof.

Chief executive Robin Lockwood said: “Achieving the CSWIP certification is a major development for Seta and re-affirms the strength of our established expertise in welding training.

“Our welding courses will help businesses to develop their workforces and provide the necessary accreditation. They will also support individuals in upgrading their skill sets, making them more employable across a range of industries.

“If someone wants to learn welding skills, undertake exams and gain internationally-recognised accreditation, this process can now be entirely delivered and managed by Seta; if, on the other hand, they are already an experienced welder and they simply need coding accreditation, they can undergo the relevant exams at Seta.

“The CSWIP accreditation enables Seta to offer a highly flexible service, in line with the needs of individuals, businesses and industry.”

Seta is offering welding courses and examinations leading to coded accreditation such as ASME IX, BS EN287, ISO 9606 and BS4872 which are in significant demand across a range of industries.

The accreditation allows Seta to provide a greater degree of flexibility to individuals and businesses.

Issued by TWI Certification, CSWIP’s certification schemes are UKAS-accredited to ISO/IEC 17024, the international standard for personnel certification.

Seta has 10 specialist welding bays at its workshops and offers training courses and coded certification in Metal Insert Gas Welding, Tungsten Inert Gas Welding and Manual Metal Arc (MMA) Welding.
