Forecasters are predicting an overcast start to the day with some sunny spells expected throughout the morning and into the afternoon.

There is a chance that Wearside could see of some rain over the course of the morning but from 1pm onwards, the weather is predicted to stay dry.

Temperatures are expected to be around the 10°C mark however it will feel colder by the coast or on higher ground.

A dry and bright start is forecast for Saturday with some sunny spells and temperatures settling around 9°C by midday.
