Flood warning and alert issued for parts of Sunderland

Flooding is possible for Sunderland on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 11 as strong winds from Storm Ciara are yet to die down.

A flood warning and flood alert have been issued by the Environmental Agency for Sunderland as high spring tides in combination with low pressure and strong wind conditions (which are expected to reach 50mph this afternoon) means that high tides have been predicted to affect coastal areas and people are being warned to be careful along the coast and to stay away from large waves as they may be dangerous.
