Day-by-day bank holiday weekend weather forecast for Sunderland as temperatures set to reach 17C

After one of the wettest May’s on record, Sunderland finally looks set for some warmer weather as we head into the bank holiday weekend (Saturday, May 29 to Monday, May 31).

According to Met Office forecasters, Wearside is looking for a dry and sunny long weekend, with temperatures averaging at around 17°C.

Saturday, May 29

Saturday looks set to be the mildest day of the weekend, with temperatures set to average around 15°C.

According to Met Office forecasters, the day will start off cloudy before seeing some sunny spells just before lunchtime.

Cloud patches are expected to disappear as we head throughout the afternoon, with bright skies prominent into the evening.

Sunday, May 30

Temperatures are expected to rise even further on Sunday, with highs of 17°C expected by forecasters.

The weather is expected to remain dry however Wearside could see some low cloud and fog overnight.

Monday, May 31

More of the same for bank holiday Monday, with temperatures once again settling at around 17°C.

Much like the previous day, the Met Office is expecting sunny spells right throughout Monday however there could be some cloud covering as we head into the evening.

It looks set to be a warm night on Monday, with temperatures not expected to drop below 13°C.
