Water supplies restored in Ryhope following a two-inch leak which was affecting properties

Northumbrian Water have confirmed that water supplies have returned to normal following emergency work to repair a small leak in Ryhope.

Repair teams were called to Byony Toft at around 10am on Monday, January 18 after a small, two-inch leak on a water main was affecting 14 properties.

It is understood that teams reacted quickly to stop the leak and managed to restore the supply to the affected homes by 10.30am.

A spokesperson from Northumbrian Water said: “We were made aware of a small two inch leak on a main affecting 14 properties at Byony Toft, Ryhope this morning, our teams quickly attended the site to stop the leak at 10am and water supply was restored to customers by 10:30am.
