Watch the wedding song with a Disney twist which has proved a hit
When Gillian and Betty Haynes tied the knot, one of their best men came up with a unique song, which is growing in popularity.
The couple, who live in Seaham, said John Fletcher’s song and video, a twist on Beauty and the Beast, was one of the talking points of their big day.
Gillian, 33, and 29-year-old Betty, along with all their guests, were left in stitches when John performed his take on the Disney classic, paying tribute to the happy couple.
Gillian, who has been best friends with John since their university days, said he is always singing and performing, but they weren’t expecting this.
The support worker, said: “John is just one of those people who is always singing and making up lyrics on the spot.
“He had already done his speech and had a little sing song and people were asking for more. It was then the projector came out and he started singing to the video.
“We thought it was brilliant and were laughing all the way through. But, towards the end John’s voice starts to break as he becomes emotional, and I just lost it then and started crying.”
Betty, a production worker, and Gillian, recently decided to upload the video to YouTube to share with others and within a short time it had more than 900 views.
The couple, who met through mutual friends seven years ago, tied the knot at Newton Hall in Northumberland earlier this year and are hoping their unique wedding toast video will go viral.
This wedding video added to the fun or the couple’s big day.
Gillian said: “We had such a good day, all the guests were saying their faces were hurting the next day from laughing so much.”
Betty and Gillian also used their wedding to raise £180 cash for charity Daft as a Brush, which transports cancer patients to and from hospital, by holding a cake smash.
Guests paid money to vote for which of the brides would get cake in their face.
Gillian, said: “Thankfully, it was Betty who got the cake in her face, because I was wearing falsh eyelashes. But, there was only 25p in it.”
