Washington Snooker keep up the pressure on South Hylton


Jay Dewar won a close first frame before Stephen Thompson dominated the second frame and Norman Leslie won the third.
Gavin Dixon was always in control to win the fourth frame, and in the pairs, Stephen Thompson and Norman Leslie beat Chris Cowie and Jimmy Gales 51-33 to complete the whitewash.
South Hylton had an excellent 4-1 win at home to Whitburn.

Hide AdA 33 break helped Adam Smith get Hylton off to a good start before a 45 break helped Bobby Boyce dominate the second.
John Smith pulled one back for Whitburn and in the fourth frame, Tony Hazard’s lucky socks couldn’t help him as a 33 break, followed by a 33 clearance, saw Graham Rutland win the frame.
In the pairs, a 40-break by Phil Burford, when paired with Adam Smith, helped win the frame 88-10.
Lumley B stormed to a 5-0 victory at home to Biddick A, thanks to Brian Meuse, Sean Henderson, Richie Tiffin and Alec Hannan.

Hide AdHannanthen teamed up with Don Roberts to win the pairs 53-18 for the clean sweep, which moves them up to third place.
Biddick B strolled to an easy 5-0 victory over Washington Snooker B.
Trevor Walton, Peter Mills, John Temple and Michael Simpson were successful, before Walton and Philip Straughan won a high-scoring pairs for the 5-0 win
The match between Glendale and Green Baize was postponed due to a shortage of players for Green Baize.

Hide AdIn Division Two, Keith Johnston got Mill View A off to an excellent start in a 4-1 win over Railway.
Gary Turner levelled the match before Adam Burnell moved Mill View back into the lead and Peter Davies claimed the fourth frame.
In the pairs, Keith Johnston and John Burnell beat Ken Rackstraw and Vince Flynn 59-28 for the 4-1 win.
Elsewhere, Pennywell Comrades beat Murton Officials 4-1, Lumley A edged a 3-2 victory over Murton Colliery and Mill View B triumphed 4-1 against The Victory. Finally, Seaham Conservatives won 4-1 at home to Cheemas.
