Washington - Down Your Way

The Rotary club of Washington were given a talk by RAF war veteran Tom Davison, 92, on his days as apprentice Engineer at Reyrolles in Hebburn, the Home Guard and playing his part for his country. He spoke about being chased by German bandits, carrying out bomb drops from his loved and trusted Halifax Bomber and getting home with one engine,after being peppered with German gunfire. He was awarded the Legion of Honour (French). Tom was thanked by club president Mick Drake. Tom also goes to schools so that they can hear first hand what it was like to be at War.

Washington Town Centre Library will be hosting a 3D Rainbow Spring card craft session tomorrow from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. There will also be a spring flowers and poppy tales sessions on March 31 from 2.15pm to 3.15pm.

Washington Millennium Centre will host a learn how to make Grufffalo Storysacks session from 2.30pm to 3.30pm on April 4.

Character art with Daniel Weatheritt will take place in Washington Town Centre Library on April 7 from 2.15pm to 3.15pm. There will also be a Ladybird session on April 5 from 2.15pm to 3,15pm.
