Sky Sports' Keith Downie reports that the Khazri deal has been signed off, although no official confirmation has come from either buying or selling club at this stage.

The Black Cats could recoup more than £6million for the wideman, who spent last season on loan at Rennes. That fee could eventually rise to £9million with add ons.

Khazri sparkled on loan at Rennes last season during a loan spell which saw him score nine goals in 24 Ligue 1 appearances, helping them to qualify for next season’s Europa League.

The club were hopeful of making the move permanent, but the Tunisian's form attracted the attention of other French sides, and Saint-Etienne convinced Khazri to join them at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Khazri could also be swiftly followed out the SAFC exit door by Bryan Oviedo, who is interesting Club Brugge in Belgium.

Didier Ndong is also expected to depart. The midfielder spent the back end of last season on loan at Watford but failed to make an appearance in the Premier League.
