Unstoppable South Hylton secure yet another victory

South Hylton secured their 17th straight win in the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League when they ran out 4-1 winners against Biddick B.

South Hylton got off to an excellent start with Graham Rutland winning the first frame.

Peter Mills soon levelled the match for Biddick, however, Ian Stewart potted well to win the third.

Kevin Harrop won the fourth frame before Graham Rutland/Bobby Boyce won the pairs against Trevor Walton/Peter Mills.

Washington A also ran out 4-1 winners against bottom side Green Baize.

Stephen Thompson, Norman Leslie and the pair of Stephen Thompson/Gavin Dixon steered Washington to victory.

Whitburn continued the trend of 4-1 wins when they defeated Lumley B.

Graeme Ablett, Adam Parker, Richie Tiffin and John Smith all claimed victories.

Adam Parker/Graeme Ablett won a close pairs frame, beating Sean Henderson/Brian Meuse for the 4-1 win.

In their re-arranged match, Green Baize edged out Whitburn 3-2.

Washington Snooker B took the first two frames away at Glendale, thanks to Bryan Jeffrey and Billy Bell.

Liam Irving pulled one back for Glendale before Roful Hoque won the fourth frame.

In the pairs, Frank McParlin/Paul Atkinson beat John Hall/Roful Hoque on the final black.

A 31-break saw Chris Cowie win the first frame for Steels at home to Biddick A.

Tom Ayre won a close second frame, before a 26-break helped Ray Charlton Junior win the third frame.

Graham Smith pulled one back for Biddick, and in the pairs, Chris Cowie/Jimmy Gales beat David Adamson/Graham Smith for an excellent 4-1 win.

In Division Two, Lumley A have opened up a five-point lead after a good 4-1 win away at The Railway.

Paul Stoves and Joe Nord (2) put Lumley in control before Joe Beston responded.

In the pairs, an excellent final pink and black finish saw Paul Stoves/Joe Nord pinch the frame against Ken Rackstraw/Vince Flynn.

Elsewhere in the league, Pennywell Coms edged out Mill View A 3-2.

Joe Turner/Dean Taylor beat Dan Alderson/John Burnell 60-21 in the pairs to clinch the narrow win for Pennywell.

Mill View strolled to a comfortable 4-1 victory over Murton Colliery.

Seaham Conservative needed the pairs frame win to clinch a slim 3-2 win over the Victory.

Michael Monaghan, when paired with Robert Cougle, helped win Seaham the match, winning the pairs 44-34.

Cheemas defeated Murton Officials 3-2 in the last match of the evening.
