Crews were left “shocked” after they found snakes left in bags outside Farringdon Community Fire Station.

On the evening of Thursday, February 13, fire fighters in Sunderland found two bags of abandoned snakes close to the station.

A spokesperson for Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue service said: “Crews from Farringdon Fire Station were shocked to discover two bags of snakes abandoned outside the station.”

The fire service called the RSPCA and said the ‘snakes were made safe’, whatever that might mean.
