Sunderland passengers warned of Metro delays between South Hylton and airport
Passengers planning on using the Metro on Monday morning (March 29) have been warned they face delays of up to 12 minutes.
The delays have been caused due to a signalling issue and are affecting trains travelling from Sunderland to airport and Sunderland to South Hylton.
A spokesperson for the Metro said: “There are delays of up to 12 mins to trains running between Sunderland and Airport and Sunderland to South Hylton due to signalling problems. Please leave extra time for your journey.”
Initial delays of 15 minutes have been reduced slightly since earlier in the morning.
It is not known how long the delays will be in place on Monday morning (March 29).
It comes on the first day since January that the Government’s ‘stay at home’ message ends as lockdown measures continue to ease.
People are now able to meet up outdoors in groups of up to six people.
