Metro suspension between St Peter's and South Hylton extended

Metro services between St Peter’s and South Hylton stations are to remain suspended until Tuesday, June 2

Network Rail is carrying out emergency overhead line repairs at Sunderland Station. Metro operators Nexus say they are keeping in daily contact with Network Rail to see if the repair time will be shortened.

There are no trains running between South Hylton and St. Peters in either direction. Every evening from 9pm this will be extended to South Hylton and East Boldon.

No Metros have run between St Peter’s and South Hylton since Friday, May 22.

A bus replacement, number 901 will continue to run in the affected area.
