Metro services to be suspended in parts of Sunderland and South Tyneside for emergency engineering works

Emergency engineering works mean Metro services in Sunderland and South Tyneside will be suspended on Tuesday, May 26.

Metro has reported there will be no service in either direction between South Hylton and St Peter’s throughout Tuesday.

The suspension of service will be then extended to cover the entire section of the line between East Boldon and South Hylton from 9pm on Tuesday.

The suspension is is due to emergency Network Rail overhead line repairs. A bus replacement service, 901, will be in operation.
