Metro services resume after overhead line fault

Metro trains have resumed and are running with delays after an earlier overhead line fault on Tuesday, June 9.

Services were suspended between Pelaw and South Hylton in both directions due to an issue with the overhead line on Network Rail at around 7.20am.

An update at 8.50am added: “Service has now resumed & trains are running between Park Lane & South Hylton but are subject to delays of up to 20 mins.

“Ticket acceptance cancelled as of 9am. Bus replacement ends at 9.30am.”
