Metro passengers urged to leave extra time for journey due to cancellations

Metro passengers have been warned of a run of cancelled services during this morning.

The network has confirmed a number of its trains will not operate today, Tuesday, November 17.

Just before 8.45am, the service tweeted to say a failed train at Tyne Dock had led to a halt in services between Bede and South Shields.

A spokesperson for the Metro said today: “Some services are cancelled due to driver availability.

"Please leave extra time for your journey.

"Sorry for the inconvenience caused."

It was put on hold due to the first coronavirus lockdown, which began in March.
