Delays for drivers in County Durham as roadworks over-run

Drivers face delays in County Durham this morning, after planned roadworks over-ran.

A closure of the northbound A1M between Junction 60 for Hartlepool and Junction 61 for Durham is now expected to remain shut until at least 7.30am.

Drivers are advised to exit at J60 and follow the solid square symbol.

Take the A689 to Sedgefield then the A177 to join the A688 northbound and rejoin the A1M at J61.

Delays are likely on approach to the closure.

Please allow extra time for your journey if travelling in the area or consider alternative routes.
