A19 rush hour traffic hit by delays after vehicle breaks down blocking a lane

Motorists have faced delays today after a broken down vehicle left a lane of the A19 blocked.

The AA has said the incident was first reported just after 5.20am today, Tuesday, May 11, on the northbound side of the carriageway between the A182 interchange at Murton and the A1018 Seaham Grange roundabout, which also takes traffic into Sunderland

It said the problem was caused by a stalled car, with drivers facing a 15 minute delay near to Dalton-le-Dale and Murton and the jam clearing shortly after 9am.
