Two drivers caught over the limit in drink and drug drive campaign
Cleveland & Durham’s D-Relief RPU officers were sent out on the A167 near Chester-le-Street on the morning of Monday, December 23.
After completing tests on drivers, two were found to be over the limit of driving, with one of them testing to be almost three times the legal limit.
Drivers have been warned to avoid risking being over the limit for driving after enjoying themselves the night before.
A spokesperson for Cleveland & Durham RPU said: “This was late in the morning at around 11:30am and just goes to show you can still be well over the limit from the night before, so please don’t risk it.”
Suspected drink and drug drivers can be reported to police by calling 101.
Cleveland & Durham RPU’s 2019 Winter Drink and Drug Drive Campaign continues.
