Metro cancels early morning services as strike action cuts driver availability
Metro has cancelled a number of services in the morning, Wednesday, December 11, as a result of strike action.
Operator Nexus says driver availability is limited due to action by the RMT.
It has withdrawn two full trains operating between Sunderland and South Tyneside and Airport or Pelaw and and three shorter peak time services.
Nexus says the changes mean there will be gaps in service and trains will be particularly busy.
It is asking passengers to leave extra time for their journey or travel outside peak hours if possible.
