Drivers are being urged to find an alternative route after a collision closed one of Sunderland's busiest roads.
North East Traffic Live has Tweeted that the lanes on and two of the southbound A19 are closed between between the A1231 Wessington Way and the A183 Chester Road junctions.
The A183 sliproad is open around the scene but traffic is tailing back to the A1231 junction.
