Keown seems to think Shakespeare would be doing the dirty on Claudio Ranieri.

But that isn’t how the football management community works regarding sackings and appointments. There are only three rules.

One. When a manager is dismissed by a club, all the other gaffers profess outrage and disbelief, regardless of how dreadful results have been.

Two. When the same club announces a replacement, the other managers are then pleased for the new man, claiming certainty that he has what it takes to turn things around and that the club has acted wisely.

Three. You can replace any other manager and feel neither guilt nor compunction.

This even applies when you take over from a person who also happens to be your best friend, twin brother and who saved you from drowning that morning.
