The capsule has been buried in the area between McDonald’s and Next clearance, marking the section where the extensions starts.

A plaque will shortly be placed there.

The time capsule, provided by Phase 2 contractors Bowmer & Kirkland, holds items from 2015 put together by the schoolchildren and Dalton Park.

These include Phase 2 plans, coins, Dalton Park leaflets, toy mascot, newspaper articles, drawings of the school, photos from recent school visits tolocal points of interest and the school handbook.

The capsule has a designated opening date of May 26, 2065.

This is the second Time Capsule to be buried at Dalton Park. The first one marked the start of Phase 1 outlet build.

The contents were again put together by local schoolchildren and Tony Blair officiated at the burial ceremony in July 2002.

A plaque in front of adidas marks the spot.

After the ceremony, the children were given an official overview of the building works by Tony Ingledew, site manager for Bowmer & Kirkland.

Dalton Park will continue its ‘historic’ connection with the school with further presentations and visits.
