Three people arrested following stabbing outside Sunderland pub

Three people have been arrested following a stab attack outside a Sunderland pub.

The horror incident happened close to The Dolphin, in Farringdon's Ashdown Road, on Sunday night.

A 37-year-old was rushed to hospital by paramedics after he was left with injuries at about 9pm.

A police spokesman has said that the injuries are "non-life threatening".

Two men aged 35 and 25 as well as a 30-year-old woman have since been arrested following the attack and are now in police custody.

The Dolphin was named Sunderland's best pub in an Echo poll last December.

No-one was available to comment when the Echo contacted the pub.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: "At around 9pm last night police were called to reports that a man had been stabbed at The Dolphin pub on Ashdown Road in Sunderland.

"Emergency services attended and a 37-year-old man was taken to hospital by paramedics with non-life threatening injuries.

"Extra police patrols have been in the area to carry out enquiries and reassure any concerned members of the public.

"Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident including two men, aged 35 and 25, and a 30-year-old woman.

"They currently remain in police custody at this time."
