Three men deny killing Sunderland grandad David Walsh

Three men have denied murdering a grandad in a street attack.

Dalton Barnett, Charles Lamont and Patrick Duggan are all accused of killing 45-year-old David Walsh.

Mr Walsh, of Fuller Road, Hendon, Sunderland, died after an incident at Canon Cockin Street in the city last November.

Four men charged in relation to his death appeared at Newcastle Crown Court via video link to HMP Holme House.

Barnett, 19, of Fuller Road, Lamont, 40, of Villette Road and Duggan, 19, of Palmstead Place, all Sunderland, all pleaded not guilty to murder and violent disorder.

Raymond Brown, 36, of Canon Cockin Street, Sunderland, will enter his pleas at a later date.

A trial, which could last up to five weeks, will start on June 8.

All four were remanded in custody.
