What is SSTC3?
Sunderland Strategic Transport Corridor Phase 3 (SSTC3) is the link for completing the continuous dual carriageway between the A19 and the city centre.
The completion of SSTC3 is vital to improving access to the city centre and other key employment sites (Vaux, Farringdon Row). It will improve the city’s public and sustainable transport network.
Consultation closes at 5pm on Thursday June 30 2016.
The other phases of the SSTC are:
Phase 1 is the completed realignment and widening of St Mary's Boulevard;
Phase 2 is the new Wear crossing and its approach roads, now in being built;
Planned for the future are:
Phase 4 Wessington Way and A19 upgrades to the west of the new bridge;
Phase 5 upgrades between the Port of Sunderland and the Wearmouth Bridge.
