The donation will be used to help provide a training base for brigade members as well as a lookout for the Coastwatch team.

Funded through the Sainsbury’s Community Budget scheme, it was set up to help charitable groups in the local area and is partially funded by sales of the retailer’s ‘Bag for Life’.

Store manager Chris Stevens, said: “Our store is at the heart of the local community and is important we can play our part to support it. When we heard about the brigade we just wanted to help out.”
