Sunderland's survival bid dented as Crystal Palace, Swansea and Leicester City all win again

The Black Cats, in action against Manchester City tomorrow at 4pm, could only watch on as relegation rivals Crystal Palace, Swansea City and Leicester City all won.

Swansea needed an injury-time winner from Fernando Llorente to see off Burnley in a thrilling 3-2 game.

Llorente's thumping header gave the hosts an early lead but Burnley levelled as Andre Gray struck with a penalty, wrongly awarded by referee Anthony Taylor after the ball had hit the arm of Clarets striker Sam Vokes.

Swansea hit the woodwork three times - but fell behind in the second half as Gray scored. Martin Olsson's powerful effort brought Swansea level and, deep into added time, Llorente rose majestically to head in and prompt ecstatic celebrations at the Liberty Stadium.

Victory moves the Swans five points clear of the relegation zone while Leicester eased their problems further with a vital 3-1 win over Hull City, who stay second bottom.

Sam Clucas had given Hull the lead but Christian Fuchs equalised. Riyad Mahrez scored his first league goal since November, a low 18-yard strike, before Tom Huddlestone headed into his own net to seal a deserved victory for Leicester.

And for former Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce it was more joy as his Crystal Palace side made it back to back wins, beating West Brom 2-0 away from home, Andros Townsend among the scorers.

They leapfrogged Middlesbrough, who occupy the final relegation spot after losing 2-0 at Stoke City.
