Sunderland v Manchester United Team News: Jermain Defoe passes fitness test

Jermain Defoe passed a late fitness test to take a place in the Sunderland starting XI against Manchester United.

Defoe suffered a hamstring strain against Liverpool last weekend, but was given the go-ahead to feature after a pre-match fitness test.

With the 33-year-old passed fit, Sam Allardyce made two enforced changes to his side after Billy Jones and Duncan Watmore missed out through injury.

DeAndre Yedlin and Dame N'Doye came in, with the latter making his first Sunderland start.
